I glow with pride after I finally learn a piano piece that I’ve been working on. After I’ve spent weeks learning the different parts of the music, the moment when I can play the whole piece start to finish is exciting. It makes me feel good that I have accomplished that.

Jazz Band started this week! I am the piano section leader, and I’m really excited for this year! We are not going to Disney World again, but we are going on another cool trip. Along with the 7th and 8th grade concert bands, we will be going on a 3 day trip to Cleveland, Ohio and Cedar Point. The jazz band has the opportunity to play at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Even though this trip is not until the spring, I’m already really excited!
School starts on Monday, but my summer isn’t over yet. On Friday, I had the opportunity to meet the composer of a piano piece I played for a state competition. But not only did I meet him and listen to him talk about how he writes his pieces, he asked me to play for him! It was the coolest experience! He said that I played it just as he had envisioned when he had written the piece. It meant a ton to me!
On a different extreme, I am sorry to say that King Monarch did not make it. Nature did not want our noble king to reign.
