Do you have a music class? If so, what is it? If not, what class would you like to take if you had the option?

“Come here Moussy!” The spoiled Princess Sienna came around the corner searching for her royal cat. Princess Sienna didn’t realize that Moussy did not like being pampered and carried around the castle. Moussy was an adventurous cat who enjoyed chasing mice.
“My dear, why don’t you come have some tea?” asked Queen Macy from the parlor. ”You can look for Moussy later!”
“But Moussy never misses teatime!” whined Princess Sienna.
“Perhaps she’s taking a nap or something,” the Queen said vaguely.
“Okay fine, I’ll take my tea.” the Princess replied.
“Great, I’ll go alert Sandy in kitchen,” said Queen Macy.
The Queen left the parlor and went for the kitchen smiling to herself. ”Sandy,” she asked once she arrived. ”Did you let out Moussy like I asked?”
“Yes ma’am,” Sandy replied. “About thirty minutes ago.”
“Great my dear!” exclaimed Queen Macy. ”Can you prepare tea for Sienna and I?”
“Right away ma’am,” Sandy replied.

Meanwhile, in the field behind the palace, Moussy slowly approached a mouse who was facing the away from her
and towards the woods. But then she stepped on a stick and it made a loud crack. The mouse turned to face Moussy,

and there they both stood . . .

September 2010 Student Challenge #5
*There are many great image challenges this week, so stay tuned this “Image Week” for more image-inspired posts.*

Over on my sidebar you will find my blogroll. My blogroll has a list of blogs that I think you should visit. It is divided into 4 categories.
Before we could begin the Student Challenge this week, we had to read a post on Miss Yollis’ Blog about commenting. Her students created a great video about comments, and Miss Yollis shared some great information about HTML in comments. Their post really gave me something to think about when I leave comments. I will try to create conversations by leaving questions and including HTML. You can check out my comment guidelines here.

Miss W has informed us that we are going to be visiting/ receiving many visitors for next week’s challenge. So in preparation for all this, I am going to tell you a little bit about where I live! Here is my post for last year’s challenge.
If you were to visit Indiana, no matter how old you are, you have to go to the Children’s Museum. Their exhibits are fun and exciting. In the winter, they have a huge burlap sack slide going down the staircase.
Another place you should be sure and visit is Hollyhock Hill. It is a restaurant that serves fried chicken, corn, and mashed potatoes “family style.” The food is REALLY good and the restaurant itself is quaint and charming.

Miss W linked to a website offering this prompt. (My response is inserted in italics)
The best thing I can do for the world is be everyone’s best friend.
Another site she gave us offered 8 blogging commandments to follow. After reading them, I’ve decided to create my blogging commandments.
1. Safety
Safety is probably the most important thing on a blog. You should always be careful what you mention- no last names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.
2. Proofread
Always reread posts and comments to make sure that you are posting your best work. Grammar, punctuation, and spelling are all important!
3. Have fun!
Blogging is all about your voice and being creative. The more fun you have with your blog, the more interesting your blog will become.
The September Student Blogging Challenge has begun! I’m so excited for what is to come! Miss W gave us this prompt to start our challenge journey:
Think about something important you have learned outside of school – remember we should all be life long learners not just learners while at school. How did you learn it? Why is it important to you? Who or what taught you about it? How has this learning helped you in your life?
I spend 6.5 hours of my day learning at school. Then I come home and continue to learn with 1-2 hours of homework. But I also learn many things from my extracurricular activities. One of my favorite extraculrricular activities is piano. I’ve learned so many things from my piano teacher. One of the most important things I have learned in my eyes is how to accomplish large tasks within a timeline. I’ve had to break down pages of music in smaller sections of lines or measures in order to conquer a piece of music. This has helped me in other areas of my life by helping me to conquer books, essays, speeches, and, I hate to admit it, answering blog comments. As I’ve thought about it, I’ve learned many things outside of school. So really, do you learn more life impacting things in school? Or outside of school? What do you think?
